Conducting User Research on the New Primary Navigation and Mega Menu to Assess User Engagement, Functionality, and Core Journey Performance Across Desktop and Mobile.
After extensive jack tree testing, stakeholder engagement, and gathering business requirements, we finalised a new primary navigation component with a mega menu flyout. With the final UI prepared, it was time to test the new component with customers to assess its effectiveness and user experience.
Situation
The primary navigation component required input and decisions from the entire business, making it a challenging project. It involved gathering feedback across teams, conducting thorough user testing, and crafting clear goals and questions to gather valuable insights. Ensuring stakeholder learnings were addressed was also crucial to the process.
Complication
I conducted user research on both mobile and desktop using high-resolution prototypes. I aggregated the findings to first share with my team, then with external stakeholders. The testing provided valuable insights, particularly into complex micro-interactions, such as the opening and closing of accordions on mobile.
Resolution
