Exploring and workshopping a Product-Agnostic Compare Tool to Increase Usage and Capability, Enabling Seamless Integration of New ANZ Plus Products Across the Entire Dot Com Product Teams

Our legacy compare tool lacked proper UX/UI standards and wasn’t meeting its intended goals. We were tasked with designing a new, user-friendly compare tool that aligned with best practices and could be easily adopted by any product team, ensuring consistency and improved functionality across the platform.

Situation

The challenge was creating a tool-agnostic compare feature that worked across all products without favouring any one in particular. It had to meet industry standards for comparison tools while ensuring flexibility, usability, and consistency, making it suitable for diverse product teams and their unique requirements.

Complication

I conducted discovery to define compare tool objectives, establishing guiding standards. I documented product display methods to support customer decision-making, wireframed product tile states for effective comparisons, and designed page layouts to develop a clear filter system and product tile area, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
